New stadium of soccer which seems new technology,
The new technology for future,
The designs, which were approved by Sheikh Mohammed in person during the unveiling at Meydan, show a unique and brilliant structure that appears raised off the ground, forming a perfect half-ball shape.
As part of the announcement made on Wednesday, plans for a Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Award for excellence in school sports, the Sheikh Hamdan Initiative for Community Sport, a state-of-the-art Dubai International Sports Medicine Centre, a museum, and a Champions Of Academies Programme were also unveiled.

The new “Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium” is not just another sports building. We think of it as a catalyst for modernization, sensitive to geography, to environment, and to cultural heritage. Architecture here pays attention to the functional aspects of a vast mixed program, but above all it is shape and metaphor that lends personality to this project. The stadium is designed as a bowl seating 60,000 people and protected by two adjacent buildings inspired by sand dunes, a natural shape to provide shelter against sun and wind. These grand buildings house a program including a hotel, a convention centre and a shopping mall. The concourses between the bowl and the dune-buildings profit from a controlled cooling achieved through passive systems. The spatial quality of the public lobbies between the bowl and the dune-buildings crystallizes the interaction between sports activities, shopping or relaxing. The stadium is designed as a zero-carbon emission building through an intelligent use of renewable energy and passive cooling.
